I thought I would share a few short, simple but intelligent books which have made a significant impact on how I view life, church and God. The list is not exhaustive by any means, but these books have been a resource for reflection over the years. I am sure the list will grow. If lending a book out and not having it returned is a sign of a good book, then several of these books are very good. (I've lost Shattered Dreams 3 x's, the same holds true for A Skeleton in God's Closet, which is not included in this list but is still an excellent read before Easter). I have no reservations recommending any of these books.
Exploring Christian Ethics - Biblical Foundations for Morality by Kyle D. Fedler
Fit Bodies, Fat Minds: Why Evangelicals Don't Think and What to Do About it by Os Guiness
God in the Dark: The Assurance of Faith Beyond a Shadow of Doubt by Os Guiness
Knowing the Holy Spirit Through the Old Testament by Christopher Wright
Not the Way It's Supposed To Be - A Breviary of Sin by Cornelius Plantinga Jr.
Selling Out the Church - The Dangers of Church Marketing by Kenneson & Street
Shattered Dreams - God's Unexpected Pathway to Joy by Larry Crabb
The Dangerous Duty of Delight - The Glorified God and the Satisfied Soul by John Piper
The Mission of God's People: A Biblical Theology of the Church's Mission by Christopher Wright
